Engineering Administrative Assistant

A Houston-based industrial manufacturing/oil & gas services company is seeking an Engineering Administrative Assistant to support its Engineering and Technical departments.

This role is ideal for someone with strong administrative, technical documentation, document control, and SAP experience. The position will support engineering documentation, drawings, change notices, Material Masters, Bills of Material, SharePoint sites, and department records.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to Engineering and Technical teams.
  • Review drawings, specifications, change orders, and technical documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Release reviewed documents and maintain completed document packages.
  • Create, update, and maintain Material Masters and Bills of Material in SAP S/4HANA.
  • Extend Material Masters, BOMs, and Production Versions to multiple locations as needed.
  • Process engineering documents such as PSORs, ECNs, ERNs, and Test Reports.
  • Coordinate with engineering personnel and document originators to resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain technical documentation, filing systems, formatting, distribution, and recordkeeping.
  • Support Technical and Engineering SharePoint sites.
  • Review and distribute Incident Reports and Field Alerts.
  • Maintain manual and electronic records for the Engineering Department.
  • Assist with data entry, reporting, office supply procurement, and other administrative duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of administrative experience, preferably in an engineering, manufacturing, technical, or oil & gas environment.
  • Experience working with technical documentation, engineering records, drawings, specifications, or change notices.
  • SAP S/4HANA experience, ideally with Material Master and Bill of Material functionality.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage large volumes of documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and established procedures.
  • Comfortable working 100% onsite in Northwest Houston.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SharePoint experience, including sites, workflows, and document communication.
  • Basic familiarity with SolidWorks or similar 3D modeling software.
  • Oil & gas, manufacturing, industrial, or engineering services experience.
  • Familiarity with ECNs, engineering releases, BOMs, item masters, or technical document control.
  • Basic understanding of engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with database concepts.
