Location: Oak Brook, IL – In Office
Compensation: $25.00–$27.00 per Hour, Based on Experience

About the Opportunity
Connect Search is partnering with a leading specialty healthcare organization that has been providing high-quality patient care for more than 50 years. The organization operates a large physician practice across multiple states and specializes in complex kidney care, dialysis services, transplantation support, and related specialty services.
We are seeking an experienced Billing Representative to join the Revenue Cycle team. This individual will play an important role in ensuring accurate and timely professional billing while supporting reimbursement, claim accuracy, and compliance with payer requirements.
The ideal candidate has strong physician professional billing experience, understands medical coding and payer guidelines, and is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced revenue cycle environment.
Key Responsibilities

Accurately enter and review manual charges for professional services on a daily basis.

Work billing work queues to resolve charge edits and claim errors prior to submission.

Ensure accurate and timely billing for office, inpatient, dialysis, and other physician services.

Review documentation for accurate diagnosis codes, procedure codes, modifiers, place of service, and provider information.

Verify patient demographic and insurance information.

Perform insurance eligibility verification and appropriately document findings.

Review daily charge reconciliation reports and resolve missing or incomplete charges.

Partner with physicians, advanced practice providers, clinical teams, and other departments to resolve documentation and billing discrepancies.

Follow Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, managed care, and payer-specific billing requirements.

Maintain accurate documentation within the practice management system.

Utilize Microsoft Excel and reporting tools to reconcile billing activity.

Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.

Participate in training, team meetings, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications

Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) required.

Minimum of 5 years of medical billing experience, preferably within a multi-specialty physician practice.

Strong experience with physician professional billing.

Working knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS Level II, and modifier usage.

Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payer, and managed care billing requirements.

Strong understanding of insurance verification, charge entry, claim edits, and medical billing workflows.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent keyboarding and data-entry skills with strong attention to detail.

Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.

Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Experience

Nephrology or dialysis physician billing experience.

Experience with Acumen, Epic, NextGen, or similar EHR and practice management systems.
