Accounting Specialist

Connect Search is partnering with a growing healthcare services organization to identify a Payroll & Accounts Payable Specialist. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment, takes pride in accuracy, and thrives in a fast-paced setting. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting payroll operations and managing the accounts payable process for multiple locations across several states. This position will be 100% onsite in the Beaumont, Texas area.

Duties: 

Payroll Administration

  • Process accurate and timely bi-weekly multi-state payroll.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company payroll regulations.
  • Audit timesheets, payroll changes, deductions, and employee records for accuracy.
  • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.
  • Process payroll adjustments, deductions, refunds, and related transactions.
  • Support payroll reporting, audits, and compliance requirements.

Accounts Payable & Accounting Support

  • Manage the full-cycle accounts payable process, including invoice entry, coding, approvals, and vendor payments.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve payment discrepancies.
  • Maintain vendor, payroll, and financial records.
  • Assist with month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Partner with operational leaders to provide financial and administrative support.
  • Help improve accounting and payroll processes while maintaining strong internal controls.

Collaboration & Customer Service

  • Serve as a trusted resource for employees, managers, and vendors.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and timely issue resolution.
  • Support training and education related to payroll and financial processes.
  • Build strong relationships across departments and locations.

Qualifications

Required

  • 3-5 years of payroll and accounting experience.
  • Experience processing full-cycle, multi-state payroll.
  • Background in accounts payable, bookkeeping, or general accounting.
  • Knowledge of payroll regulations, tax requirements, and employment laws.
  • Experience utilizing payroll, HRIS, and/or accounting software.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
