Job Title: Payroll Specialist
Contract: Contract-to-hire
Location: Chicago, IL
Hourly: $25-32/hr (based on experience)
Schedule: Hybrid, onsite 3 days per week

Job Description:

• Process high-volume, multi-state payroll for assigned locations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and on-time delivery using UKG and related systems
• Import, audit, and balance timekeeping data, resolve discrepancies, and partner with HR, Finance, and department leaders on payroll approvals
• Manage payroll reporting, journal entries, wage attachments, and provide support for audits and ad hoc requests
• Collaborate as part of a team-oriented payroll function, continuously improving processes while maintaining confidentiality and strong attention to detail

Qualifications:

• 3+ years payroll processing experience
• UKG / UltiPro
• Processed for 400+ employees
