Location: Fully Remote
Compensation: $29.00 – $35.00 per Hour
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Hours: 24–30 Hours Per Week (Flexible Schedule)

About the Opportunity

Our client is a highly respected, integrated healthcare system serving communities throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa. They are seeking a REMOTE Tumor Registrar to support their Cancer Registry team in a fully remote capacity. This is an excellent opportunity for a Certified Cancer Registrar looking for schedule flexibility while contributing to an established oncology program.

Position Summary

The Tumor Registrar is responsible for reviewing, abstracting, and maintaining cancer registry data in accordance with state, national, and accreditation requirements. This role supports cancer program quality initiatives by ensuring complete, accurate, and timely collection of oncology data.

The ideal candidate will possess strong oncology registry knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and experience working independently in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review medical records and abstract cancer-related data into the cancer registry database.
  • Accurately collect and document demographic, diagnostic, treatment, staging, and follow-up information.
  • Ensure compliance with Commission on Cancer (CoC), state registry, and national reporting requirements.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain current knowledge of cancer registry standards, coding updates, and reporting guidelines.
  • Collaborate with physicians, oncology teams, and other healthcare professionals to obtain required documentation.
  • Participate in registry audits, data validation, and special oncology projects as needed.
  • Support timely submission of required cancer registry data.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient health information.

Qualifications

Required

  • Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) or Certified Cancer Registrar (CCR) credential required.
  • Minimum 1 year of Tumor Registry or Cancer Registry experience.
  • Epic experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of oncology terminology, staging, treatment modalities, and registry standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
  • Reliable internet connection and personal computer required (equipment will not be provided).

Preferred

  • Previous remote Tumor Registrar experience.
  • Experience supporting Commission on Cancer (CoC) accredited programs.
  • Familiarity with oncology quality reporting and registry audits.
  • Experience working within large health systems or academic medical centers.

Schedule & Assignment Details

  • Fully remote assignment

  • 24–30 guaranteed hours per week

  • No call requirements
  • No weekend requirements (unless preferred to meet weekly hours)

Compensation

$29.00 – $35.00 per hour based on experience, registry expertise, and qualifications.
