Senior Accountant
Location: Northbrook, IL
Pay: $32–$36/hr
Type: Contract-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM

Overview

A mission-driven organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to join a growing accounting team. This role supports core accounting functions including general ledger, financial statement preparation, and grant accounting, reporting directly to the CFO.

Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger and prepare financial statements
• Perform account, bank, and cash reconciliations including AR roll forward
• Execute grant accounting and ensure accurate tracking and reporting
• Support month-end close activities and maintain accurate financial records
• Collaborate with the CFO and accounting team on day-to-day financial operations

Requirements

• Strong general ledger experience required
• Grant accounting experience required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with an ERP system
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

Nice to Have

• Experience in healthcare or nonprofit industry
