We are seeking a Senior Accounting consultant with strong general ledger and month end close experience to join our team. This role will be responsible for journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, financial analysis, and supporting the overall accounting function. This is a contracted role, with the potential to hire. Mostly remote other than onsite a few times a month in either Madison, WI or the NW suburbs of Chicago so need someone local to WI or IL.  

The ideal candidate will have recent working NetSuite experience as well as ASC 842 lease accounting experience. 

Responsibilities:

• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the month-end close process
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
• Conduct financial analysis and provide accounting support to the business
• Apply strong GAAP knowledge to day-to-day accounting activities
• Support lease accounting, including ASC 842, preferred
• Work closely with Staff Accountants and AP/AR teams
• Assist with internal and external audit requests and provide supporting documentation
• Collaborate across departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting

Qualifications:

• 2–3+ years of NetSuite experience required
• Strong general ledger and month-end close experience
• Solid understanding of GAAP
• Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis
• Audit experience, either in public accounting or supporting external auditors
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• ASC 842/lease accounting experience
