Safe Harbor Benefits Consultant
Location: Brookfield, WI (mostly remote) 
Pay: $55–$65/hr
Type: Contract (3–6 months)
Schedule: Flexible and mostly remote schedule | 20–40 hours per week (must be within a drive-able distance to Brookfield, WI.)
Work Environment: Business Casual

Overview

A growing organization is seeking a Benefits Consultant to lead the review, design, and administration of employee benefit and retirement plans during a period of rapid growth. This individual will drive recommendations, manage timelines, and help develop long-term benefits strategies across a multi-state workforce.

Responsibilities

• Assess the current employee benefits plan and identify gaps and opportunities
• Develop a long-term benefits strategy including medical, dental, and vision across multiple states
• Evaluate and manage 401(k) plan including Safe Harbor provisions and provider options
• Work with current brokers to renegotiate, RFP, or restructure plans based on company growth
• Drive project timelines and deliverables forward with minimal oversight

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in employee benefits plan design and administration
• 401(k) administration experience with Safe Harbor required
• Proven ability to lead benefits plan reviews and implement changes
• Strong project management skills with ability to manage timelines and deliverables
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with Paycor or similar HRIS/payroll platforms
• Background working with multi-state employer benefits
• Formal project management experience or certification
